Baker Football Stays Perfect
BALDWIN CITY -- The number 2 team in the nation, the Wildcats defeat another ranked opponent heading into their bye week.
Baker University's football team broke several school records and remained undefeated this year, following a 65-42 victory over Peru State Saturday at Liston Stadium. According to the university, quarterback Logan Brettell threw for 374 yards to break the school's all-time record in passing yards, previously held by Mack Brown at 8,278. Brettell now has 8,446 passing yards in his career, with half of his senior season still to come.
Another school record fell Saturday, when Brettell passed to Clarence Clark for a 99-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter, setting the school record for longest TD pass.
Baker, ranked #2 in NAIA national rankings, moves to 6-0 on the season, and will next play October 14 at home against MidAmerica Nazarene University.
