-- The Lawrence community rallied to save Headquarters in 2016. Now, the crisis center seeks its next group of life-saving volunteers.
Headquarters Counseling Center is a National Suicide Prevention Lifeline crisis center that serves people from all over the state of Kansas, in addition to its Lawrence service (785-841-2345). Their programs are operated by volunteer counselors, who are trained and supervised by a Director of Counseling. The organization is currently prepping for its next training sessions for volunteers. Prior to the training, potential volunteers and anyone interested in the service are invited to an information session that provides further detail into the volunteer service role at Headquarters. Andy Brown, Executive Director of Headquarters, spoke with KLWN's Eric Holcomb and Jeremy Taylor to give details on the info session.
