Karen Presswood and Eric Galbreath will be on Timeline to tell us about festivities surrounding the 155th anniversary of the Ninth Street Baptist Church at Ninth and Ohio. Long a landmark in our community, this church has had an amazing role in Lawrence history!



Timeline Radio 2-26-18

Coyla Lockhart and Shannon Hodges have launched a project to preserve and protect historic Oak Hill Cemetery. Today on Timeline, they will talk about their work. We are also joined by Derek Rogers, Director of Lawrence Parks and Recreation, the city department that oversees the public cemeteries in Lawrence. 



Timeline Radio 2-19-18
Timeline guests today are Richard and Alisa Branham, genealogists who have recently been presenting classes at the Watkins Community Museum of History. We will talk about those classes and of course, all the ways that you can pursue your own family history.

Abraham Lincoln's birthday. Our 16th president was born on February 12, 1809. My guests are Danielle Dion, librarian at the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth, and Dr. Kyle Anthony, U.S. History professor at the University of St. Mary.

Timeline will discuss the Underground Railroad, Oskaloosa history, and the recognition of the Newell-Johnson-Searle House. Liz Leach is an historian who has done extensive research on this property and she, along with Architect and Historian Stan Hernly have been instrumental in applying for the recognition of the Newell-Johnson-Searle House. A short drive from Lawrence and other northeast Kansas communities, Oskaloosa is rich in tradition.

On today's show, Timeline will celebrate 157 years of Kansas statehood. My guests will be Judge Joseph Pierron with his list of Notable Kansans, and Marvin Jardon, longtime Baldwin City resident and historian!

It is time to talk about the amazing 2018 Bleeding Kansas Lecture Series at Constitution Hall in Lecompton! Tim Rues, executive director of Constitution Hall, and Paul Bahnmaier, president of the Lecompton Historical Society, will be on Timeline as my guests.




Timeline Radio 1-15-18
On today's show, Connie Fitzpatrick and Imani Wadud will be on Timeline to talk about the Women of Color Mural and nominations for women to be included in this very special work. You can nominate a Woman of Color for this recognition.


January 15th is also Timeline's 5th birthday, and we will also talk a little about the past 5 years of Timeline. There will be a free program January 18, 2018, 6pm, at the Watkins Museum of History, celebrating five years of Timeline. Hope to see you there!



Timeline Radio 1-8-18
In this first Timeline program of the new year, Timeline welcomes Adrian Zink, author of Hidden History of Kansas. Adrian works at the National Archives in Kansas City, and will also tell us a little about the important records that are maintained there.



Timeline Radio 12-18-17
This will be the last Timeline show of 2017. Members of the Kansas Highway Patrol will join me on Timeline to talk about all the ways that you can safely see 2018! We will talk about texting and driving (don't do it) and hitchhiking, and other rules of the road that can keep you safe. And the KHP is always looking for good people who want to serve and protect the good people of Kansas.
