School Closings:
Lawrence School District – USD497 – All school activities are canceled and all district buildings closed. Parking lots also will be closed to vehicles.
Baldwin School District – Classes canceled. Practices and activities are canceled as well. Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled for Wednesday evening will occur virtually. Teachers will be in communication with families to coordinate these virtual meetings.
Perry Lecompton School District – USD343.
Bishop Seabury Academy
University of Kansas – Lawrence, Edwards and Leavenworth campuses closed today.
The film screening of “It’s Basic” at Eudora High School has been rescheduled for Feb. 26 due to the winter storm. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 12. Eudora School District – USD491 – is closed today.
Winter weather cancellations for Lawrence Transit
Based on the forecast for winter weather, the following plans have been made for Lawrence Transit services. The safety of our bus riders and employees is our priority.
- Tuesday, Feb. 11 – On Demand service stops at 11 p.m.
- Wednesday, Feb. 12 – All service is canceled. No overnight On Demand service.
- Thursday, Feb. 13 – Fixed route and paratransit service planned to resume as usual. On Demand begins at 8pm.

Douglas County Government buildings and offices, including the Douglas County District Court, are closed today, Feb. 12, due to the winter storm. The County Commission meeting is also cancelled.
The Lawrence Public Library is closed today.
Also, with the anticipation of the upcoming forecast of snow, the LBOR Office will have a delayed opening this morning.
There will be no Lawrence Meals on Wheels meal deliveries, Wed. 2/12, due to the impending winter storm.
The Senior Resource Center for Douglas County, including Senior Wheels, is closed today.
