Engagement opportunities for Outdoor Aquatic Center renovations
Stop by and give your input on renovations to the Outdoor Aquatic Center! These are adjustments approved within the parameters voted on by the City Commission at their meeting on August 13.
- The scope of the renovation to the Outdoor Aquatic Center includes the preservation of the existing lap & diving pool, while replacing the zero depth entry shallow pool.
Our City team will be tabling two different days at the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, to receive your input:
- Thursday, January 23 from 8 a.m. to noon and 3:30 to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, January 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
At our initial engagement events you’ll see two different concepts for the orientation and shape of the zero depth entry shallow pool. You will also see a list of possible amenities that can accompany the shallow pool, including a toddler slide, in-water benches, water volleyball, etc.
Can’t make the pop-ups?: Don’t worry! We’ll be sending out an online survey in the next newsletter where you can vote on your preferred concept.
What’s Next: Community engagement for this project is only beginning! We will continue to reach out to the community for guidance in shaping the updated Outdoor Aquatic Center through this e-newsletter, social media, and in-person engagements.
